If there's one thing Bend knows how to do well, it's bringing dog lovers together.
This weekend we're excited to spend the day at one of our favorite annual dog-centered events: Heroes on the Run, hosted by Street Dog Hero, followed by the always entertaining Doggolympics hosted by Hungry Hound.
Events like these remind us why Central Oregon is such an incredible place to share life with our dogs.
Heroes on the Run helps support Street Dog Hero's mission of rescuing and rehoming dogs while creating opportunities for our community to come together around a cause that matters. Every adoption story starts with someone willing to help, and organizations like Street Dog Hero continue to make a difference for countless dogs each year.
After the races wrap up, the fun continues with Doggolympics.
Whether your dog is an elite athlete or simply enjoys being the center of attention, Doggolympics is a celebration of what dogs do best: make us smile.
Some dogs compete.
Some dogs socialize.
Some dogs simply enjoy collecting treats from every vendor booth they can find.
All of them have a good time.
One of the best parts about events like these is the opportunity to connect with fellow dog owners. Every conversation starts with a dog and usually ends with a new friend.
We'll be there all day with the Bend Barks & Rec van, meeting dogs, answering questions, and cheering everyone on.
