A great Run
How it works
Adventures don’t have to be complicated. Making sure your dog is having fun and exercising, no matter the weather, is our specialty!
We bring our climate-controlled van to your house (or wherever your dog is), guide them through a structured 30-minute run or walk on a non-motorized slatmill with positive encouragement, and return them happily tired for a calmer home
-
That’s right! Wherever you are in Bend, Redmond or Sunriver, our yellow van delivers the adventure to your dog. Our climate-controlled van drives directly to you and your dog — no drop-offs, no travel stress.
-
Dogs run or walk on spring-supported, non-motorized slatmills, making sessions gentle on joints and suitable for both young and senior dogs.
-
Each session is a structured 30-minute run or walk, fully controlled by your dog. There’s no battery or electricity. Dogs choose their own pace.
-
We act as enthusiastic dog cheerleaders, creating a calm, encouraging environment while helping regulate speed and effort for a safe, balanced workout.
-
We finish by returning your dog relaxed, fulfilled, and ready for a long nap — a happy dog and a happy household.

about us
Bend Barks & Rec was born from a simple goal: finding a better outlet for our own dog, Bodhi, while combining our passion for dogs with the impact a calm, fulfilled dog can have on a happy family. Living in Central Oregon, we understand how smoke season, harsh weather, busy schedules, and everyday life can make consistent exercise difficult. After seeing firsthand how structured physical and mental exercise improved Bodhi’s confidence, behavior, and overall well-being, we knew other dogs and families could benefit from the same experience.
With a background in dog training and behavior through Animal Behavior College, I use that knowledge to create customized, trainer-guided sessions built around each dog’s individual needs. At Bend Barks & Rec, we believe the impact goes far beyond simply “burning energy.” Proper exercise and enrichment can help dogs feel calmer, more confident, mentally fulfilled, and happier both at home and in everyday life.
The best part of what we do is seeing the excitement from our doggy clients when the van pulls up, and hearing from families about the physical, mental, and emotional changes they’re seeing in their dogs through our sessions.
We believe every dog deserves movement, joy, and care no matter the season or their owner's schedule.
Whether it’s wildfire smoke, icy sidewalks, or an anxious pup that doesn’t thrive in public parks, we created a mobile dog gym that brings a safe, fun workout right to your doorstep. A personalized 30-minute session to keep your dog happy & healthy.
Our goal? A fleet of vans in towns across the country, showing up with love, tail wags, and a better way to care for our best friends.
Why we started
“Our golden retriever gets so excited to get on the treadmills, he whines with excitement!”
